Sezen Oralogu
Project Coordinator
With deep roots in Gimuy and connections to the Juru and Yidinji Nations, Sezen Oraloglu brings more than a decade of experience in education to her role as the Cape York Leaders Program Project Coordinator.
In her position, Sezen leads the coordination of student support across secondary and tertiary pathways for CYLP. From managing new initiatives to case managing students and organising key events, she plays a vital role in ensuring CYLP scholars are set up for success and supported to stay the course.
Her work is grounded in a belief that when First Nations students and families are empowered to connect with their strengths, they can shape their futures. It’s a conviction that has guided her journey through schools, classrooms, and communities – from supporting young learners as a tutor at Djarragun College, to working with families and students from diverse backgrounds as a Community Liaison Officer, to improve school attendance, engagement and educational outcomes while offering cultural advice to school staff.
Sezen holds a Diploma of Educational Studies, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is currently completing her Bachelor of Education. Her career has also included work as a Youth Support Coordinator, School Officer and Administration Assistant – each role sharpening her insight into the complex barriers students can face and the powerful impact of cultural connection and community voice.
Sezen says staying connected to Elders is central to her values and she is passionate about seeing more young people seize opportunities across education, leadership, employment, sport and advocacy.
