Shania Conlon

Student Support Officer: Rockhampton

Shania holds experience in administration and youth work providing her with the appropriate tools and knowledge to be able to provide exceptional
mentorship and support to our CYLP students.
In her role as SSO, Shania is responsible for the strategic planning and management of 46 secondary phase academic leaders spread among three
high schools located in Rockhampton and Yeppoon. Within this role, developing and fostering ongoing supportive relationships with students, families, school
staff and communities is paramount. Nurturing these relationships ensures successful transitions for students and families from home life to boarding
school life.
Shania is committed to encouraging and supporting First Nations Youth to capitalise every available opportunity that will constructively benefit them
in areas including but not limited to academics, leadership, employment, advocacy, and sporting.
Connection to Country: Shania identifies as a Wakka Wakka woman who was born and raised on Darumbal Country in Central Queensland.
