Tessa Bulsey

Student Support Officer: Brisbane

As a Student Support Officer (SSO), Tessa’s role with Cape York Leaders Program involves supporting and mentoring of our young leaders in their secondary schooling. Tessa is an alumna of Cape York Leaders Program, graduating from Stuartholme School in Brisbane in 2015. This history provides her with a well-developed and close relationship with the scholarship, and she has always remained connected with everyone within CYLP.

Since graduating from Stuartholme School Tessa went out into the community searching for the right career path. She has worked with Queensland Health as an administration officer on Palm Island, the Cathy Freeman Foundation as their Sprints Coordinator, the Australian Defence Force as a recruit. She then joined Max Employment as a Job Coach, from which her passion for community development was found. She excelled within the Employment Industry, becoming site manager, and enjoyed assisting and providing support for our unemployed Australians and getting them back into the workforce.
Becoming a part of CYLP now provides Tessa the opportunity to mentor our Indigenous youth, directly supporting them to further their education and excel in their journey as young Indigenous leaders.
